Elaine Riddick Charter School

Elaine Riddick Charter School (ERCS) is a North Carolina State Board of Education approved, tuition-free, public charter school scheduled to open in August 2021.  The school is governed by a volunteer board of directors that meets each month. The school is subject to N.C. Open Meetings Law and meetings are open to the public.

ERCS will serve Grades K-4 in its first year of operation (2021-2022), and the school will add one grade level per year until reaching Grades K-8. Any student may apply. The school selects students using a random lottery. Please visit the Admissions Page to learn more. Once a student is accepted in the school, the student is not required to reapply each year.  For example, a student who is accepted in Kindergarten may remain enrolled in the school until the completion of Grade 8 without having to submit a new application each year.

Please visit our Academics Page to learn more about our curriculum.
